In this intense 12-week hands-on training course, we share best practices and practical ways to systematize processes and elevate your practice using Microsoft 365 Business.

Each week we spend 1.5 hours in a small group session (maximum six students) discussing and learning about a specific topic from your Microsoft 365 Business subscription.  That week, we will also have a One-on-One session where we work together to implement the different topics into your practice.

Microsoft 365 Demystified for Accounting Professionals
​As accounting professionals, integrations are part of our daily existence. Are you using too many apps in your practice and having difficulty making everything work together? This course will show you how to systematize your Microsoft 365 Business subscription to ensure you are making full use of the powerful tools you are already paying for and reduce your need to rely on outside integrations to keep everything synced and secure.

​Each week we spend 1.5 hours in a small group session (maximum 6 students) discussing and learning about a specific topic as outlined below in the course overview. That week, we will also have a One-on-One session where we will go even deeper with our training to understand better how to implement the different topics into your practice. 
During the 12 weeks of intense hands-on training, we share best practices and practical ways to systematize your processes and elevate your practice using your Microsoft 365 Business subscription. The recording from each session, group and individual, the PowerPoint presentation, and other resources are accessible to you through a secure, private, SharePoint portal.

Course Overview

Week 01 – Microsoft 365 for Business Overview

Microsoft 365 is designed to help you achieve more with innovative Office apps, intelligent cloud services, and world-class security. Chat, call, host online meetings, and collaborate in real-time, whether you're working remotely or onsite. Get one integrated solution, including Teams, OneDrive cloud storage, and Office apps with advanced security options. Microsoft 365 with Microsoft Teams can help your business enable secure remote work and reduce costs.​

Week 02 – Microsoft 365 Outlook & Exchange

Outlook lets you use your email account from any web browser. You can customize the look of your inbox and messages, control how messages are processed and stored, and create rules to manage incoming mail. Exchange Online is the hosted version of Microsoft's Exchange Server messaging platform that organizations can obtain as a stand-alone service or via an Office 365 subscription.

Week 03 – Microsoft 365 Bookings

Grow your small business by letting customers book services with you 24/7 using a customizable, web-based scheduling page. With Office 365 Bookings, confirmations, reminders, and calendar updates are automatically sent to your customers and staff.

Week 04 – Microsoft OneDrive

OneDrive is a cloud storage service from Microsoft that connects you to all your files.  It lets you store and protect your files, share them with others, and get to them from anywhere on all your devices. Store, sync, share and easily collaborate on files securely with OneDrive for Business.

Week 05 – Microsoft 365 SharePoint

Organizations use Microsoft SharePoint to create websites. Create or follow SharePoint Online sites to help you organize information, people and projects.  You can use it as a secure place to store, manage, share, and access information from any device. All you need is a web browser.

Week 06 – Microsoft 365 OneNote

OneNote Online lets you create, edit, and share OneNote notebooks in your browser. You can access notebooks from any device. Take notes, track to-do items, and work with other people at the same time.

Week 07 – Microsoft 365 Planner & To Do

Microsoft Planner is a to-do app that comes with Office 365. It’s used for personal and teamwork planning, with a simple card-based interface.  Planner lets you easily build teams, share goals, and track progress to get work done together – anywhere, on any device.  Planner is part of Microsoft 365, so it’s just as secure as the other Microsoft 365 apps. ​Microsoft To Do is a cloud-based task management app to help you stay organized and manage your day-to-day.

Week 08 – Microsoft 365 Lists 

Microsoft Lists is an app that allows users to create, share and track data to organize work.  It’s simple, smart, and flexible, so you can stay on top of what matters most.  

Week 09 – Microsoft 365 Forms

Microsoft Forms is a simple, lightweight tool that lets you create shareable surveys, registrations, quizzes and more in minutes.  Forms tracks participant responses, providing real-time results and analytics for your survey.  Beyond the built-in analytics, you can export your answers to Microsoft Excel for additional analysis and grading.

Week 10 – Microsoft 365 Teams

Teams is the chat-based workspace that brings together people, conversations and content so that teams work more effectively.  You see content and chat history anytime in team chat or small group private chat, and have quick access to shared files and other content you need right in the app.  It becomes the central hub of your workday when you integrate the other Microsoft 365 apps to increase your efficiency.

Week 11 – Microsoft 365 Power Automate

Power Automate, previously Microsoft Flow, is part of Microsoft’s Power Platform.  It allows everyday users to create automation. Make simple workflows that automatically carry out tasks between your apps, files and data.

Week 12 – Pulling it All Together

Microsoft 365 Business is designed to help you achieve more with innovative Office apps, intelligent cloud services, and world-class security.  Having the tools to run your business under one umbrella provides seamless integrations and workflow on an ever-evolving platform.  We spent the last eleven weeks learning all of these tools; now, we will ensure they are all working together to propel your business forward.
